“Voices in the Clouds” intimately explores an Asian-American man’s quest to understand his heritage. Tony Coolidge, born to a Taiwanese mother and an American father he never met, fulfills his late mother’s dream of returning to her birthplace and reconnecting with his family. There, he discovers his roots in the Atayal tribe, a culture at risk of vanishing. As Tony delves into his ancestry, he transforms into a passionate advocate for his people. Joined by his brother Steve and wife Shu-min, Tony’s journey deepens, uncovering the rich history, struggle, and beauty of the island’s indigenous tribes.
